DESCRIPTION
The Thin Air Press Kit is an inexpensive introduction to vacuum laminating. It can be used to laminate veneer, marquetry projects, and furniture parts. The kit is reusable and available in various sizes to suit your project. It is easy to use - no power is required. This is how you “Bend it with Thin Air”!
THE THIN AIR PRESS KIT CONTAINS:
Heavy-duty vinyl vacuum bag with a one-way valve positioned in the center and an attached seal
Low-volume, high-pressure manual vacuum hand pump
Breather netting
Extra sealing tape
Illustrated instructions and maintenance sheet
HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT
Insert your glued veneers (and mould) into the vinyl vacuum bag, position the breather netting under the valve, seal the bag, connect the manual pump, and in less than a minute, extract the air. Watch as it generates enough pressure to press seven layers of maple into a three-dimensionally shaped skateboard.
Note: The 14 x 47" sized bag accommodates our pre-shaped veneer sets only. It is not recommended for use with our uncut veneer sheets.
We strongly recommend doing a dry run before gluing your veneers. We cannot replace veneer sheets due to mishaps.
